My career didn’t start with a big plan.
It started at sixteen.
I worked as a carpenter’s helper and a car mechanic. The work was physical, sometimes repetitive, but it taught me something important early on, how things fit together, and how small mistakes create big problems later.
I realised quickly that I enjoyed problem-solving more than speed. I wanted to understand why something failed, not just fix it temporarily.
That curiosity pushed me into formal training in general maintenance.
Training covered carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing. But more than tools, it taught discipline.
Sr. João used to say:
“Tools don’t make a tradesman. Thinking does.”
Those words stayed with me.
I learned to measure twice, plan before cutting, and respect safety procedures not because they’re written in manuals, but because shortcuts always cost more later.
Over time, I worked on private banks, luxury hotels, and high-end property renovations. These environments demand consistency.
In a five-star hotel, I completed a two-year advanced maintenance programme. Every task was inspected. Every finish mattered. Every mistake became a lesson.
I graduated top of my class, not because I was the fastest, but because I was thorough.
One chapter of my journey stands above the rest adapting homes for families with disabled children.
This work wasn’t about appearance. It was about safety, dignity, and independence.
It required patience. Listening. Understanding needs that weren’t always spoken.
During this time, a child who struggled to pronounce my name started calling me “Love-others.”
That stayed with me.
Later, when creating my own company, the name Lovelofters felt natural. It reflects care, respect, and doing work that genuinely helps people live better.
Some clients come with drawings. Others come with ideas they can’t fully explain. Some just know something doesn’t work in their space.
My role is to listen, assess, and guide turning thoughts into practical, lasting solutions.
As Sr. João always said:
“If you do the job properly, you don’t need to explain it. The result speaks.”
That philosophy is at the heart of Lovelofters.
